Two full time (10 PA) Consultant Paediatricians with acute and community general paediatric skills are required for Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
There is no out of hours on call commitment for weekend or overnight Consultant cover, but the applicant will be part of the rota for the new Children’s Assessment Unit providing weekday resident work until 9 pm (one regular shift per week).
Special interests and skills of applicants will be considered and may include safeguarding, Named Dr, undergraduate teaching, developmental clinics.
Post one – is focused on children in care with clinical sessions for holistic statutory assessments and evolution of the role to include medical advisor for adoption work.
Post two – is focused on community paediatric clinics in the Newark area with developmental assessment clinics and joint working/shared caseload with a specialist nurse.
Candidates for the post must be registered with the GMC at the time of appointment and be a Member of the RCPCH and be on the Specialist Register or within 6 months of receiving your CCT date at the time of the interview. Alternative experience with competence in Community Paediatrics may be considered.
The salary will be based on National terms and conditions as per new consultant contract.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
