'The organisation is a good place to work with strong values and a clear commitment to quality of care and patient experience.'
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join the existing Haematology Team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.
The post will be based largely at King's Mill Hospital (KMH), potentially with out-patient sessions at Newark Hospital. You will become one of four Haematologists providing clinical and laboratory Haematology services to Sherwood Forest Hospitals and surrounding population of 412,000 as well as contributing to wider Nottinghamshire and East Midlands Networks. The Trust underwent a major rebuilding programme including a new Pathology Laboratory which opened in 2006, followed by brand new in-patient accommodation and day-case/clinic facilities.
The appointee will be expected to have expertise in general Haematology but a special interest in malignant Haematology, particularly myeloma and also chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, would be welcome in order to complement the interests of the other consultants. Accordingly, the precise job content of the successful applicant will be agreed on a personal basis in consultation with Consultant colleagues and as part of the job-planning process.
Although this is a whole time position, candidates wishing to work part-time or in a job share are encouraged to apply. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed with the post holder on a personal basis in consultation with consultant colleagues.
It is a requirement for the post holder to have passed both the MRCP and FRCPath examinations or show evidence of their equivalents and be on the full and specialist register with a licence to practise from the GMC or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.
If the applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. If applicant is non-UK trained, they will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service.
