Sherwood Forest Hospitals (SFH) We are a multiple award-winning, modern and friendly trust, with a growing reputation for providing outstanding care across our three hospitals and in the Mid Nottinghamshire community. We have a stable leadership team, a clear sense of direction and we are working very closely with our health and local authority partners in the Mid Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), to deliver a better future for the population we serve. Our staff and volunteers strive to ensure patients are at the centre of our decision making.

At SFH we value our staff.  We know happy, well supported staff provide high quality care to patients. We want all patients to receive the level of care we expect our friends and family to receive and we are making progress with this aim. We have the highest staff engagement scores across the Midlands and in 2018, the Care Quality Commission assessed us as Good Overall and Outstanding for the Care we provide.

We offer a growing range of staff benefits, excellent training facilities and a modern, well equipped working environment. We are committed to supporting colleagues to maximise their potential and enjoy satisfying careers, underpinned by our staff health and wellbeing strategy; ‘Happy, Healthy, Here’.

If our vision and values appeal to you, now is the time to join #Team SFH.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and highly motivated individual to join the existing Haematology Team at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The post will be based largely at King's Mill Hospital (KMH), potentially with out-patient sessions at Newark Hospital. You will become one of four Haematologists providing clinical and laboratory Haematology services to Sherwood Forest Hospitals and surrounding population of 412,000 as well as contributing to wider Nottinghamshire and East Midlands Networks.

The appointee will be expected to have expertise in general Haematology but a special interest in Myeloid and blood Transfusion, would be welcome in order to complement the interests of the other consultants. Accordingly, the precise job content of the successful applicant will be agreed on a personal basis in consultation with Consultant colleagues and as part of the job-planning process.

Although this is a whole time position, candidates wishing to work part-time or in a job share are encouraged to apply. If such a person is appointed, modification of the job content will be discussed with the post holder on a personal basis in consultation with consultant colleagues.

It is a requirement for the post holder to have passed both the MRCP and FRCPath examinations or show evidence of their equivalents and be on the full and specialist register with a licence to practise from the GMC or be eligible for registration within six months of interview.

If the applicant is UK trained, they must also be a holder of a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT), or be within six months of award of CCT by date of interview. If applicant is non-UK trained, they will be required to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
