Sherwood Forest Hospitals (SFH) We are a multiple award-winning, modern and friendly trust, with a growing reputation for providing outstanding care across our three hospitals and in the Mid Nottinghamshire community. We have a stable leadership team, a clear sense of direction and we are working very closely with our health and local authority partners in the Mid Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), to deliver a better future for the population we serve. Our staff and volunteers strive to ensure patients are at the centre of our decision making.
At SFH we value our staff. We know happy, well supported staff provide high quality care to patients. We want all patients to receive the level of care we expect our friends and family to receive and we are making progress with this aim. We have the highest staff engagement scores across the Midlands and in 2018 the Care Quality Commission assessed us as Good Overall and Outstanding for the Care we provide.
We offer a growing range of staff benefits, excellent training facilities and a modern, well equipped working environment. We are committed to supporting colleagues to maximise their potential and enjoy satisfying careers, underpinned by our staff health and wellbeing strategy; ‘Happy, Healthy, Here’.
If our vision and values appeal to you, now is the time to join #Team SFH.
We are looking for an oncoplastically trained surgeon to work with us in the Breast Unit at Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (SFH). The SFH Breast Unit offers a full service for patients with breast disease as well as seeing more than 3000 new referrals a year. The service is developing and we now manage over 200 new breast cancers per year. The department prides itself on an individualised patient centred approach to all its patients and both the breast screening and symptomatic services are housed in a modern purpose-built unit within King’s Mill Hospital.
We offer the opportunity to work within a thriving and friendly department, where your personal development will be encouraged. We routinely perform bilateral surgery with two consultant led teams operating synchronously. The service is entirely patient centred and we would expect our new colleague to follow this ethos.
The successful candidate will join the existing multidisciplinary team of breast surgeons, specialist breast care nurses, specialist breast radiologists, histopathologists, medical and clinical oncologists.
The successful candidate will be expected to have experience in breast surgery in both the screening and symptomatic settings and oncoplastic training. All candidates must be eligible for full GMC registration and either already be on the specialist register or within 6 months of receiving CCST/CCT at the time of the interview.
This is a new part-time position offering 4.25 PAs.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
