If successful you will be one of ten Acute Medical Consultants providing clinical services to the Mansfield, Ashfield, Newark and surrounding areas in Nottinghamshire from two trust sites, King’s Mill Hospital in Sutton-in-Ashfield and Newark Hospital in Newark.
We are a close knit group of Consultants providing high quality clinical care from admission to discharge. There is excellent team working with our Emergency Department as well as the different medical and surgical specialties. We are also very well supported by our Divisional Managers.

Our hospital is situated close to the Derbyshire Peak District and Sherwood Forest. We are within easy reach of Sheffield, Derby and Nottingham being only 7 miles from the M1. A mainline rail service operates from Newark to London taking 1 hour 10 minutes.

The Emergency Department /Flow team and the Neck Of Femur Fracture Team have both been shortlisted in the Emergency, Urgent and Trauma care category. Significant contributions were made to all achievements by the Acute Medicine Team. What we can offer you
We are an expanding Consultant body and therefore there is plenty of opportunity to develop the service along with our existing Consultants.
The department fully supports all Consultant colleagues’ professional development and in addition to study leave and a study budget, 2.5 programmed activities are allocated to Supporting Professional activities.
This is a substantive position but candidates already working at Consultant level on a locum basis who are wishing to gain Specialist Registration will be fully supported through the CESR programme and are encouraged to apply.
This is a full-time position but candidates wishing to work part-time or in a job-share are also encouraged to apply.
You must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice and be on the specialist register or within 6 months of gaining CCT at time of interview for a substantive Consultant position, if you are interested in applying for a Locum Consultant position you must have full GMC registration with a licence to practice at the time of appointment.
You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
