An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated and committed individual to join a team of 8 Consultant Cardiologists and their supporting staff. This new post will be based at King's Mill Hospital where you will contribute to the provision of clinical cardiology services to Sherwood Forest Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust and surrounding population of 400,000.
Cardiology at Sherwood Forest Hospitals has developed extensively over the last few years to deliver a wide range of services. These include a full range of investigations, both invasive and non-invasive to include CT angiography, TOE, diagnostic cardiac catheterisation, coronary angioplasty, pacing and complex devices.
This post is highly suitable for a doctor aspiring to a career in Cardiology who wants to extend their experience of Cardiology to improve their chance of a subsequent successful application.The overriding purpose is to support the provision of the highest quality patient care through personal actions and continuous improvement.
The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting Rapid Access Chest Pain clinics, outpatient clinics and a range of investigations to include Myoviews, DSE and Echo. You will also be expected to contribute to inpatient ward work and participate with MDT meetings, Specialty Governance and Morbidity and Mortality.
Please note that this post does not carry Postgraduate Dean's approval of training recognition. However, support for study leave will be given and participation in research and audit activities is strongly encouraged.
Although these posts are not recognised for training the post holder will be allocated a Clinical/Educational supervisor and there will be ample opportunity for Clinical experience. The post will provide excellent experience as a Clinical Fellow at a busy friendly District General Hospital. All successful candidates will be well supported by senior colleagues during your tenure with us.
