Sherwood Forest Hospitals (SFH) We are a multiple award-winning, modern and friendly trust, with a growing reputation for providing outstanding care across our three hospitals and in the Mid Nottinghamshire community. We have a stable leadership team, a clear sense of direction and we are working very closely with our health and local authority partners in the Mid Nottinghamshire Integrated Care Partnership (ICP), to deliver a better future for the population we serve. Our staff and volunteers strive to ensure patients are at the centre of our decision making.

At SFH we value our staff.  We know happy, well supported staff provide high quality care to patients. We want all patients to receive the level of care we expect our friends and family to receive and we are making progress with this aim. We have the highest staff engagement scores across the Midlands and in 2018 the Care Quality Commission assessed us as Good Overall and Outstanding for the Care we provide.

We offer a growing range of staff benefits, excellent training facilities and a modern, well equipped working environment. We are committed to supporting colleagues to maximise their potential and enjoy satisfying careers, underpinned by our staff health and wellbeing strategy; ‘Happy, Healthy, Here’.

If our vision and values appeal to you, now is the time to join #Team SFH.

We are currently looking for enthusiastic, proactive registered nurses to drive and deliver outstanding patient care on our Admissions Unit. The Trust has recently been rated good for safety and patient care and this is a great opportunity to be at the heart of an evolving organisation that has already made significant steps on its improvement journey.

We are a progressive Surgical Admissions Unit specializing in Trauma, Orthopedics, General Surgery, ENT, Ophthalmics and Urology transport waiters. We accept direct admissions of acutely unwell patients from the Emergency Department, Newark, GP, PC24 and Nottingham. We also support the patient flow team and experience daily challenges managing patient admissions, transfers and discharges, with the 4 hour wait in the emergency department being a measure to ensure all patients are transferred for ward based care to ultimately provide outstanding safe care.

We can offer you:

  • Preceptorship
  • Mentorship
  • AIMS course
  • Catheterisation training
  • Cannulation and venepuncture training
  • Bladder scan training
  • NG tube management
  • Traction , aspen collar and other bodily worn devices training
  • Leadership development and champion link roles with training
  • Opportunities to assist with Audits and sharing good practice

We have an excellent team who are extremely supportive, caring, passionate and experienced. We have a friendly atmosphere on the unit and value each other. We can also offer flexible working, part time hours if required.
